Hyzon Motors, US developer of fuel cell powered commercial vehicles, has founded a subsidiary in Groningen, the Netherlands. This is where production for Europe is to be set up in future.

In order to gain a foothold in the European market, Hyzon Motors, the US developer of fuel-cell-powered commercial vehicles, has founded the subsidiary Hyzon Motors Europe together with the Dutch company Holthausen Clean Technology. Holthausen has already converted commercial vehicles to fuel cell propulsion. Hyzon Motors’ European production facility is to be built at the company’s headquarters in Groningen, the Netherlands.

According to its own statements, Hyzon Motors intends to be the first manufacturer in Europe to start series production of zwero-emission heavy trucks. The delivery time for medium and heavy trucks will be six to eight months. It is planned to deliver several hundred fuel cell trucks by the end of 2021.
