The German Automotive Industry Association (VDA) has decided to cancel the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2020. This was officially announced by the Association on May 6, 2020. The VDA justified the cancellation with the continuing restrictions caused by the corona pandemic.

In its press release, the VDA emphasizes that the IAA Commercial Vehicles, as a global meeting place for experts and decision-makers from the entire transport and logistics industry, thrives on the direct personal exchange and the internationality of its exhibitors and visitors. Due to the corona pandemic, however, many countries in the world are still subject to travel restrictions for months to come. In addition, major events are still prohibited in many European countries.

The IAA Commercial Vehicles 2020 should have been held in Hanover from 24 to 30 September 2020. The VDA as organizer has decided not to postpone the show, but to cancel this year’s edition. According to the VDA, the next IAA Commercial Vehicles is to take place in September 2022.
